"EPA CERTIFIED RENOVATOR" Training

American Renovator Training is an approved training partner of Seagull Environmental Management Co, Inc. and teaches some Lead Renovator classes under Seagull's EPA accreditation.
American Renovator Training is an approved training partner of the National Center for Healthy Housing (NCHH) and teaches some Lead Renovator classes under NCHH's EPA accreditation.

Training services marked "Seagull" are provided by Seagull Environmental Management Co, Inc. Training services marked NCHH are provided by National Center for Healthy Housing. Courses are approved for purposes of certification under Section 402 of TSCA for the Certified Renovator.

Any renovator, from owners to contractors, from plumbers to electricians to painters, who disturbs lead paint while working in a pre-1978 home, school or day care center, now must be Lead-Safe Certified. If you’re not, you can face tens of thousands of dollars in fines. Plus, you put the health of yourself, your workers and your customers at risk, which could result in lawsuits. One simple 8 hour class certifies you for five years. It’s that easy.

Effective April 22, 2010, there are new Federal rules regarding how you perform any work that disturbs lead-based paint in homes, child-care facilities and schools built before 1978. You now must be EPA certified and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.

Failure to follow the new rules can result in federal fines of up to $37,500 per day or up to 5 years in federal prison, or both. Don’t take a chance - it’s not worth it.

How To Become an EPA Certified Renovator:

In just one day, we will teach you how to meet all EPA requirements and become an “EPA Certified Renovator.” Among the areas covered:

* How to set up Safe Work areas, with hands-on training
* What to do inside, with hands-on training
* What to do outside, with hands-on training
* How to Minimize the hazardous dust
* Leaving the work area, both daily and at the end of the job.
* Dangerous practices which are now PROHIBITED.

Cost per person is $345, minus $50 if you are a member of a trade group or a professional association. Just enter the name of the group to which you or your company belongs.
